The enormity of the needs in the world can be overwhelming. And even the number of organizations serving the poor can be overwhelming. We have observed that there are many people who want to help but feel suspicious of organizations, skeptical that the money will really help people. There is an increasing concern among donors that money would not simply give “hand outs” but would empower people and break the cycle of poverty. We have also observed that people are not interested in simply giving money to a cause. They want to be a part, they want to feel connected to the people they are advocating for.
For these reasons we are very intentional about coming alongside field workers that are aiming to create real solutions to poverty. We are committed to what we call the “100% rule” – 100% of every dollar raised will go directly to helping the communities in need. All travel and operational and staff expenses of Beautiful World are raised separately. We are passionate also about connecting Advocates with the people of the communities we adopt through pictures, stories, short film, correspondence and opportunities to visit.
